Willow Arts' Week 2008

The second Willow Arts' Week began on Monday 20th October and ran up to mid-term.
This year we organised a cornucopia of artistic events tfor both pupils and parents.
The Sandford Gallery again loaned us a rich collection by Irish artists which were on display throughout the week in the School foyer area. These paintings and sculptures acted as a catalyst (and a joy) for the boys to visit during the week.

Besides offering a rich artistic experience to the boys, the collection was also there for Parents and Staff to view throughout the week.
A variety of visiting artists (musicians, working artists, poets, actors and dancers…to list but some) visited classrooms throughout the week and many classes visited performances locally as well.
The classrooms themselves were a hive of creativity as the boys wrote, drew, sang and danced their way through the week! The teaching Staff had a wide variety of plans and projects in place to foster a love for the Arts within the school.
Following on from our recent successful Book Week, the Arts are alive and thriving in Willow!

We welcomed Willow families to  the Sandford collection week and share in the pleasures of the Arts during the week.

The schedule gives one a taste of just some of the events that unfolded throughout the week.
