Drama in Willow

In play, children regularly ‘make-believe’. It is the most natural thing in the world! In school, such explorations and imaginings should be fostered.

Classroom drama (or ‘process drama’, as it is sometimes called) is part of the curriculum in Willow. Boys are encouraged to express themselves (publicly) in class and explore life through the process of creating and expressing plot, make-believe and fiction. These classroom activities are extended through Assembly presentations, Biblical stories and an annual 5th Form Musical.

Besides this ‘process drama’, pupils also explore television, cinema and theatre as part of normal class activities and study. On leaving Willow, pupils will have attended various performances, been involved in a production and generally developed their imaginative and creative selves, whilst evolving a self-confidence and self-esteem (before the oncoming self-questioning that inevitably arrives in adolescence).
